Mumbai's leading businesses from BFSI firms in BKC to media houses in Andheri — trust Hemiton Global for end-to-end payroll outsourcing in Mumbai. Monthly salary processing, PF, ESI, TDS, and Professional Tax filings, handled with a zero-penalty compliance record.
Fastest network-wide client onboarding
Mumbai is India’s financial capital, home to the country’s largest banks, insurers, asset managers, and a significant share of its listed corporates. From the glass towers of Bandra Kurla Complex to the trading desks near Nariman Point and Fort, and the media and production houses clustered around Andheri, Lower Parel, and Goregaon, Mumbai’s business landscape is as dense as it is varied.
That density brings a level of payroll complexity most cities don’t face at the same scale. BFSI and fintech firms run performance-linked bonus structures and ESOP schedules. Media and advertising companies manage project-based and contractual talent with irregular pay cycles. And a large share of the workforce splits across Mumbai city, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, each adding coordination overhead. Layer on Maharashtra’s Professional Tax, LWF, and ESIC obligations, and an in-house payroll team quickly becomes a full-time compliance function rather than a strategic HR resource.
It’s why a growing number of Mumbai businesses from BKC-headquartered NBFCs to Powai’s tech campuses are turning to payroll outsourcing companies in Mumbai like Hemiton Global to take this off their plate entirely.
Backed by our Maharashtra hub. Hemiton Global runs dedicated payroll operations for Mumbai clients, supported by our Maharashtra hub in Pune — the same state-specific compliance depth, without sacrificing responsiveness.
Ask any Mumbai HR or finance leader where payroll actually breaks down, and the answer is rarely the calculation itself. It’s collecting attendance data from three systems that don’t talk to each other. It’s chasing managers for leave approvals. It’s reconciling reimbursement claims against policy. It’s fixing PF and ESI mismatches after the fact.
Modern payroll engines can compute salaries for hundreds of employees in minutes. The real cost in time, errors, and HR bandwidth sits in the input collection and validation stage before processing, and the compliance and filing stage after it.
Our positioning is deliberate. We don’t compete with payroll outsourcing companies on who runs the calculation faster. We compete on who removes the most work from your team’s month, before and after the 20 minutes that everyone else optimizes for.
Pre-Payroll — input collection, validation & coordination
Payroll Processing — the actual salary calculation
Post-Payroll — PF, PT, ESI & compliance filings
Already running Keka, Greythr, or another HRMS? We work inside it, managing input collection, validation, and coordination so the process no longer depends on one person remembering every step.
Prefer a single partner end-to-end? Hemiton Connect handles input collection, processing, and compliance filing on one system with a full audit trail and employee self-service built in.
Hemiton Global runs payroll as a fully managed service for Mumbai companies, covering everything from monthly processing to year-end compliance.

Monthly payroll reports, headcount summaries, and compliance dashboards for your HR and finance leadership.
Maharashtra PT is governed by the Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1975, enacted under Article 276 of the Constitution. Mumbai, as the state’s PT collection hub, generates the largest share of Maharashtra’s PT revenue of any city and gets no special treatment in return: every registration and filing runs through the same state-wide MahaGST portal used across Maharashtra, not a BMC-specific system. The current slab rates for salaried employees (FY 2025-26) are:
Women employees earning up to ₹25,000/month are fully exempt with Mumbai’s higher average salary bands across BFSI, media, and corporate HQ roles, this exemption affects a meaningfully larger share of payroll than in most cities.
Maharashtra’s maximum annual PT of ₹2,500 sits at the constitutional cap under Article 276. The ₹300 February deduction (instead of ₹200) is what brings the annual total to exactly ₹2,500, a detail that’s easy to miss on manual payroll runs, especially across large Mumbai headcounts.
Monthly vs. annual — the rule most Mumbai employers get wrong: PTRC filing frequency is based on the previous year’s PT liability, not employee count. Given Mumbai salary levels, most mid-sized and large employers here cross the ₹1,00,000 liability threshold quickly and fall into monthly filing; smaller Mumbai offices under that threshold can file annually. New registrations must file monthly through 31st March of that financial year regardless. Following the February 2026 amendment to Rule 11(3), monthly due dates shifted from the “last day of the month” to the 15th of the following month, a change that’s easy for high-volume Mumbai payroll teams to miss if filing calendars weren’t updated.
PTEC + PTRC — two registrations, not one
Every Mumbai business needs a PTEC (the company's own flat ₹2,500/year liability) and, once it has employees, a PTRC (for deducting and depositing PT on their behalf). Directors and partners carry PTEC liability personally, regardless of how many Mumbai entities they hold positions in.
One portal, no BMC involvement
mahagst.gov.in covers PT for Mumbai and every other Maharashtra location under a single login, unlike states where municipal corporations run their own PT systems.
Deductible under Section 16(iii)
Only under the old tax regime. Employees under the new regime can't claim it, so TDS computation needs to track which regime each Mumbai employee has opted for.
Hemiton Global handles every part of Maharashtra PT compliance for Mumbai clients, correct slab and gender-based exemption, PTEC and PTRC registration, the right filing frequency based on your liability, and returns filed against the current 15th-of-the-month deadline without your team ever logging into MahaGST.
Mumbai businesses are governed by the same central and Maharashtra state labour laws as the rest of the state — but Mumbai's proximity to the EPFO's regional zonal office and ESIC's Maharashtra office means compliance queries and inspections tend to move faster.
Our payroll outsourcing services prioritize proactive statutory compliance, helping clients avoid payroll errors, penalties, and last-minute corrections.

No. Professional Tax is governed at the state level under the Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, so the same slab structure currently ₹200 per month for employees earning above ₹10,000/month applies uniformly across Mumbai, Pune, Thane, and the rest of Maharashtra. Hemiton Global handles PT deduction, payment, and annual return filing regardless of which Maharashtra city your employees are based in.
